Anyone else told they have to pay for prescriptions delivery? I got the NHS letter called Boots and they said it was a £5 charge I can’t afford that, they denied all government package. I live alone and no family close don’t know what I’m going to do now.

Are there any local pharmacies near you? There are two local ones near me that will deliver for free.

There are plenty that do not charge - Google delivered prescriptions. Alternatively one that springs to mind is Pharmacy2U.

It may be that your council can help. Many are setting up networks to help those in need of support with errands etc. I hope that you find a solution soon.

Hi, I am a community nurse and have had to self isolate but still having to work from home! I had an outstanding inhaler, I sent my husband out even though he was self isolating himself. He went to boots and was told that if we wanted our medication delivered we would be charged £5! Bad enough that I have to pay for my medication let alone pay to get it delivered! It disgraceful!

I contacted the bbc with this: haveyoursay@bbc.co.uk and an extremely lovely lady contacted me for a comment and to check I was safe. They are looking for more information if you wish to send your story. No pressure just an email but the more it’s out there hopefully someone can stop them. I hope you find somewhere to get your meds x

Thank you to everyone that’s replied with ideas I am calling round to find a delivery service now. I just couldn’t believe that a big company like boots would be so unwilling to help people in the community in a time of need and charge for a basic service. Greedy money making companies! Sorry rant over hope everyone is staying safe x

What's the point of a repeat prescription if they charge a fiver.glad you've found an alternative delivery firm.

After having posted earlier today I have now signed up with Superdrug onlinepharmacy.superdrug.com/ - free delivery

I imagine they will be more than pleased to dispense my 22 items per month

I'm confused. The Boots online prescription ordering service states "How much does delivery cost?

There is no delivery charge for NHS repeat prescriptions ordered online."

I'm signing up so I can order online via my surgery. There's no mention of a charge if it's a repeat NHS online order.

You say you phoned Boots, so maybe why they are charging - it's a push to get people online?
