Has anyone’s asthma gotten worse recently? Generally my asthma is very mild, I only have to use my reliever when I play football or come into contact with cats/dogs. However, over the last week my asthma has gotten worse, not to the point of an asthma attack or even close for that matter, but I have been able to notice a slight difference. Is this potentially due to it becoming spring and pollen coming out, or maybe the chemicals emitted from the hand sanitisers etc?
Thanks very much and stay safe during this difficult time!

Mine has slightly worsened but an(other) antihistamine a day is helping to control it. If you can’t work out if it’s pollen or something else try an OTC antihistamine... if it helps you know it’s that 😅. It may also be worth giving your GP/AN a call either way if you are needing your blue pump more often
Mine has. Think it's stress related for me, but also gives symptoms of a cough and breathlessness which is so confusing. We must do whatever we can to lower anxiety. I'm only watching the news once a day and have planted some pots. Also practicing anti anxiety techniques. I know it's so hard, but I just can't go through this amount of anxiety I've been experiencing for the next few months. Big hugs and love to all xx
Stress can definitely enhance symptoms of asthma and make things worse. What I’ve done which has helped massively is that I bought Eucalyptus oil and Peppermint oil. Every evening after work I put a few drops into a bowl of boiling water and inhale the steam for 5/10 minutes, which helps clear my airways and it’s very relaxing 👍🏼
Yep. Had to use my blue 3 times last week which is an increase. I’m certainly putting it down to the start of pollen season made worse by anxiety over this virus.
Mine has! Tree pollen is especially bad this spring because of the mild winter.
I find that mine seems to get worse around this time of year due to trees budding. Once Spring is passed it seems to ease off. Do you suffer with hay fever too? It might be worth talking to your GP about antihistamines. Good luck!
Mine seems to worsen around this time too. Yes I suffer quite badly from hay fever.. always have antihistamines on hand just in case, as I suffer from numerous other allergies too. Just wanted to check that others are noticing the same change because of everything else going on..
Hey. Mines worse too lately too. It’s so frustrating after a reasonably symptom free winter. For me, it’s definitely pollen but like you, the fumes of cleaning products and hand sanitiser really aren’t helping either
Completely agree. Had a symptom free winter & minimal use of my reliever (maybe once or twice in several months) but for the last few days I’ve had a constant presence of my asthma. Nothing concerning and it hasn’t gotten worse, but I’ve noticed it.
