My experience with steroids is the opposite - I feel great on them! However, you need to discuss this with your GP to see if it is the medication or there is something else affecting you. If you have to wait ages for an appointment, try the nurse at asthmauk in the meantime. They are very good.

It is common to have mood swings with steroids and scary! Two different courses this past year made me weepy for days. It's a tough trade off between being able to breathe and sanity :/

It is very common for steroids to affect your mood. I find that higher doses (30mg+) really affects my mood (tears, anger, mood swings etc) and have literally cried over being allowed to go buy a Hot Choc (was admitted at the time) and then cry when the hot choc has finished 😅.

However I do find that for me lower levels (I’m on maintenance steroids so...) the mood changes clear up.

The devil pills are just that. You need them when you need them but have to cope with the side effects. I find it easier to remind myself it is the steroids (when in doubt anything can be blamed on the pred 😉😂) so then I can ‘push’ my way through most of the issues. Hope that helps
