Hi all I have some copd and adult onset asthma which although I use a combination inhaler my only symptom really is slightly poor breathing without it. I don't wheeze cough have any issues waking at night and never had any chest infections.
Generally it is always the same. My breathing is a bit poor in the morning and gets better as the day goes on as the Fostair kicks in(100/6). However the last few days I've had a constant dipped breathing. It started after going round a mates garage. I got a large whiff of a strong chemical right up the nose at close quarters. Think nail polish remover X10. Then he had a ciggie that hit me too. I wasn't really in a position to get away quickly. Since then I've upped my Fostair to the max 8 puffs for the last 2 days and my breathing is definitely getting a lot better. However it's not great yet and I'm getting tiny flecks of phlegm. I'm off abroad on Friday otherwise I wouldn't be too bothered. I spoke to one of the asthma nurses and she seemed ok with taking more Fostair, over the phone. My only fear is that I may have the beginnings of a chest infection and get ill abroad. My GP won't hand out any meds to carry in case of emergencies. What should I be looking out for in early symptoms. Not coughing or getting a fever. Thanks.
