I have been breathless now for 8 weeks since i had a chest infection that was treated with anti biotics and steroids.I spent a short time in hospital and was told to return home and i would eventually recover...I had my inhaler changed from Seratide to Spioito and for a week or two the cough dissappeared.....oh joy....well for the last 5 days i still remain breathless on exertion and the cough has returned with avengance.....i have a doctors appointment in a weeks time.....But has anyone any ideas for me in the meantime.....PLEASE.......i am 70 years old i have numerous allergies that i take Fexofenadine for and Memetasone nasel spray.......I have high blood pressure[well controlled]osteoporis,arthritis,migraine,vertigo etc etc........oh shoot me now hahahahahahaha...i am utterly disparing now i feel so low and depressed........

Oh dear! You are having a bad time. I can only suggest the usual things to help a cough like a steamy shower room, any cough medicine to soothe your throat and organise lots of visits to and from friends. This won’t help the cough, but it will distract you and cheer you up. If you are feeling really poorly, get an emergency appointment or see if the nhs helpline 111 is any use.
