Feel like I’m going round in circles

Feeling frustrated, I have been passed from specialist to specialist since late 2014 still with no real answers. A good year meant discharged from tertiary care. But I’m not awaiting referral once again following three courses of pred in 5 months and being on unlicensed doses of ciclesonde and spriva motelkast fexofeadine and needing my salbutamol at least everyday.

I know you think this will be a waste of time, but I'd go back to whichever specialist you liked most. Take someone with you to listen and take notes while you talk through all the options. You could try alternative therapies - not to replace the medication, but to see if you can cope better with this awful circle. I know it's not an answer, really, but it's the best I can come up with.

It is probably time to try the complementary. Yoga and Alexander technique. The aim of the trying complementary is not to cure, but to better manage. Body posture, body fixing and poor muscle control has an input to your condition. By changing Body posture, body fixing and improving muscle control you can hopefully manage your condition better.

For yoga you need to network with people to find a recommended teacher in your local area. You need the Alexander as well because an Alexander teacher can make you aware of muscle habits that cause problems in contrast to yoga which help you lengthen out muscles and be more more fluid in movement.

I would say that its best to wait for your next appointment with the consultant. Ask him/her what is the diagnosis and why does the asthma come and go. Good luck.

I went back to a consultant on Friday saw a new one. left feeling a little bit more positive about things. There is still uncertainty if this is actually asthma my feno levels were 22 and lung function normal, a cough and a wheeze but im relitively well at the minute so the cons is going to see me when i am unwell in clinic before im given more pred or antibiotics. In the meantime I am reducing the ciclesonide.
