Rescue pack

I was thinking of getting a resuce pack just in case I have an asthma attack but for the moment my asthma is stable with fostiar even though I am getting a burning sensation in my lungs and the asthma nurse is not sure what is doing it.

I would like to know what is a resuce pack and how do I ask for one.

Hi, my rescue pack is a 5 day course of Prednisolone. Phone your surgery to get one. Your asthma plan should tell you when to take them (usually when your peak flow falls to a set level - usually 50-60% of normal) If you start using them you should get a GP appointment as soon as you can.

I don't have an asthma plan or a rescue pack. I am not even sure how to get them. I heard about a rescue pack on here

Contact your GP/practice nurse and tell them you need an action plan. Everyone diagnosed with asthma should have one. More info here asthma.org.uk/advice/manage...

No problem, it is a steep learning curve. Hope it works out for you.

I have now requested one by a nurse. I am waiting to hear back regarding this
