Asthma palpitations
My heart definitely goes faster when asthma is playing up but I often can't feel it (unless I've had a lot of nebulizers).
It is recognised (and in guidelines) that raised heart rate can be a physiological reaction to asthma - it's not just due to stress or medication. I don't get anxious about my asthma but my heart often has a mind of its own.
Sadly a lot of medical people don't seem aware of this and constantly blame it 100% on salbutamol and sometimes anxiety. It's a key symptom of asthma for me so I find this fairly irritating as well as incorrect.
I find my heart rate reacts to movement and/or coughing when my asthma is bad, which is how I know a good part is actually the asthma - especially since it will go down if I'm treated/treat myself and feel better.
If still struggling and needing a lot of reliever ie nebs, that's what makes me able to feel it and makes it uncomfortable - just asthma doesn't make my heart feel like it's trying to escape!
Hi
Yes but only when I’m over doing it on the ventolin/am in a&e on the good drugs 😅.
If you’re getting palps it’s worth mentioning to your GP cause if it’s from the Sal you’re probs using too much and if it’s not, they may want to investigate further just to rule other things out
Hope that helps
Yes, it’s because your body is compensating for lack of oxygen and working harderc
I had this issue from may until September, I then had a big asthma attack. I would boom an appt with your asthma nurse. As the weather is getting colder.
Good luck stay warm
