Hi, I've posted before about my seemingly constant chest infections this year. It started August 2017 and I had an infection every month until April this year. I then had a cough free heat wave and stupidly didn't take the opportunity to get referred for a spirometry as my doctor advised me previously she couldn't send me for one until I didn't have an infection as it would affect the results..
Anyway this August I got another chest infection and I'm now on my third since then. Only trouble is I'm now 6 weeks pregnant which I am over the moon about! But kicking myself for getting so fed up of appointments and not getting myself sorted before getting pregnant as it's now hitting me how important it is to be healthy.
I'm just not sure what I can do now. Does anyone know if I can still have tests to find out why I'm suffering with infections so much now? And if my asthma nurse should be trying different presenters?
Thanks for any advice x

First of all - congratulations! As a parent of a 26 & 23-year-old, I'm sorry to have to tell you that they never stop keeping you awake all night; it's just the reasons that change.
Anyway, in terms of testing, I'd say that the only things that MIGHT be ruled out would be x-rays & ct-scans. I don't know for sure they would - I guess the medics will advise on that. Things like spirometry, sputum samples, etc. aren't a massive issue, but pregnancy changes your lung function, so that will be factored in.
I guess the thing to do is to make an appointment & discuss what can or can't be done...hopefully, things will settle down for you before they unsettle significantly for you
Thank you! Haha I have a 2 year old who runs me ragged already but luckily she has slept through the night since she was 4 months old! Fingers crossed for the same luck again. Until they become teenagers Anyway!
I think the next thing to cross off the list is a spirometry, I wondered if they could do it when pregnant. Then I was hoping for a ct scan. As you say I'll have to discuss it with the doctor and see what can be done.
