Good morning , I decided to write as I am very confused ... I have days when my coughing is really bad with wheezing and crackles but others when I’m better ...in the morning when I wake up I’m totally fine and after few hours I start coughing and feeling big pressure on my chest and bad wheezing and crackles ...Are they asthma symptoms or infection? Should I call asthma nurse or no ? It happened many times to be ok no wheezing when I go to the nurse ...I am very confused ...

Wheezing comes and go ?
Hi
If you find you’re always like this at the same time (ie between 10 and 12) I’d try to book an appt for then. If the wheeze/crackles are audible to others try recording it on your phone, so if it’s you’re not symptomatic at the appt they can ‘hear’ what you mean. Also try recording what’s going on - ie how long you’ve had it and how it’s progressed, what time it kicks in and clears, what does/doesn’t help, any other symptoms (is the cough wet or dry, any temperature, any pains, stomach issues etc) so you can give all the info over if asked!
It doesn’t sound like the typical presentation for asthma (ie night/early morning), and crackles aren’t a ‘normal’ sound for an asthmatic. As it’s a (?) on if it’s asthma or infection or something else I’d try to see your GP
I hope that helps and that things get sorted soon x
Do your inhalers give you relief?
Similar to me. I dont believe I have asthma. When I struggle to breath they asume its that. I get wheezing, breathless, struggling in my throat, then my lungs get infected and i have to take antibiotics, this has happened a few times now.
