Why oh why don’t medical professionals read the notes I keep with me?! It clearly says I have small veins and the best cannula to use is a blue or pink one.
So the nurse doesn’t read my notes and clearly doesn’t look at all the scar tissue from previous cannulas on my arm and goes straight in with a green cannula, cue lots of crying, more shortness of breath and needing to peal me off the ceiling
It’s a typed up laminated sheet that I keep with me because when I have an asthma attack I’m unable to speak because of my wheeze.
Had she also have looked at my arm, she would have seen the scar tissue from being cannulated multiple times, which the paramedics have seen and gone to the other arm.
Whilst we all have a difference of opinions, if you’re going to comment on my post, at least make it constructive and please don’t make it sound like I’m being unreasonable or an idiot. I’m a very well prepared, organised asthmatic have lived with the condition for thirty out of my thirty two years.

Yes, maybe it would have but I was upset at the time and it was more of a rant. Also, most asthmatics find it difficult to speak when they are wheezing, but like I said we all have our own opinions and experiences.
