After many years of flare ups and taken an asthma preventer and dosage for server asthma . I have been finally diagnosed with mild asthma.

I was told today, all these flare ups may have been caused by the steroids in the preventer I have been taking all these years.

On a new non-steroid preventer now so hopefully bye bye flare ups hello healthier fitter me.

That's interesting, I've not heard that before - surely steroid inhalers are meant to prevent flares and not cause them! Was it a GP who said it might be the steroids? I've been struggling with a flare for almost 8 weeks now and finding it hard to work out the cause. What non-steroid inhaler are you now on?

I was referred to the hospital, who carried out a number of lung function tests and allergy skin test.
