Help! Venlaflaxine problems should I go on escitalopram?

Hey so I got prescribed escitalopram 5mg for 3 weeks but experienced dizziness and a few other side effects. However I did see my mood improve a little and an esse in my anxiety until one day I started to feel anxious for no reason again. Went to a psychiatrist and got prescribed Venlaflaxine 37,5mg for the first week and then increase the dose. I have only taken it 2 days and I feel like s**t. I feel depressed (but i don‘t know if its the med or me), more dizziness and horrible anxiety/hot flashes and I can‘t sleep. I took 0‘5mg of lorazepam but didn‘t help. I don‘t know if I should continue because I read so many horrible stories that I‘m scared. I don‘t know if I should simply stop now before withdrawal symptoms and try to go back on escitalopram but maybe tell the doc to increase my med? Or should I stick to it? I‘m feeling super depressed and anxiety is like 100000%! I am considering going to the hospital to be treated because my family is not with me so basically desling with this all on my own and the doc doesn‘t really give me his number or helps me if I have any questions. I need my fam but I won‘t see them until 8 weeks! Thats too long for me and I‘m getting worse as time goes by. Really scaring

Hi Sonysony; I am on Venlafaxine; I don't know if I'm gonna stay on it yet; i'm going to talk to the Nurse who gave it to me cos I take it for mental health - I have depression, anxiety and bpd (Borderline Personality Disorder AKA Emotional Disregulation Disorder). I feel dizzy and stuff; but for me; this could be other meds like my epilepsy meds or something like that.

Unfortunately, with most anti-depressants you can often feel worse before you start to feel better and those side effects can last several weeks. From my experience I don't think you can judge whether the pros outweigh the cons for at least a couple of months.
