Hi
Do you get chest infections which then lead to worsening Asthma Symptoms, increased Meds Use - and maybe even Oral Pred?
There are a few over-the-counter (non-prescription) Nasal Sprays at your Pharmacy which each claim to do the same thing, Prevent an Infection before it really gets going.
The one I'm experimenting with is called First Defence.
You may already know about this kind of Product but if not then, essentially, as soon as you get the first hint of an infection, you start squirting it up your nose where (it's claimed) it deals with the infection before it has time to get going.
I've taken it a stage further, and use it if I've just come directly into contact with someone with an infection (i.e. even before I have any symptoms). I take it for a few days each time I'm beginning to feel like I've got an infection - or if I'm concerned I'm about to become symptomatic. My wife seems to get every infection going, so I'm mainly trying to fend-off what she's picked up. Cheaper than Divorce
Apparently, many infections start (and breed) in the nostrils then, once they've built up sufficiently, you begin getting the symptoms.
Although we're now out of the Winter Infection Period, you may want to create a reminder about this one, for when the Cold / Flu Season really gets going again.
Please note, this is NOT meant to be used as Medical Advice, just sharing what I'm trying. Because the type of Products mentioned might even trigger some folks Asthma or other Ailments, check with your GP / Pharmacist - plus read the Patient Information Leaflet before trying out this tactic.
