Hi I'm new to this site so hope you can help me ! I've had a cyst behind my knee which has burst causing severe pain and unable to walk without crutches since yesterday morning. The Doc at A & E has put me on Co Codamol . After taking 2 doses of 2 × 500mg , I've woken up with a very dry mouth & my Asthma not very good. Has anyone else had thus experience please ? Cheers. Hi Kirkby , some pain killers can trigger asthma , Ibuprofen being a well known one . You need to speak to your doctor if you are worried .

Thank you . I've gone back to just paracetamol as Ibruprofen affects it badly . So difficult isn't it when you just need some pain relief ?! Cheers.

I find that I can tolerate one dose of Ibuprofen but a second will trigger an asthma attack . I try to juggle doses by using paracetomol in between , or just suffer the pain ( arthritis ) !
Did you mention your asthma at the A&E, and could the asthma flare up be a coincidence.

I did tell doc but could well be but my Asthma is usually well controlled , although it is now hayfever season too. Thank you M-D-F.
