And that because, once again, I’m in the US. Ok, so I’ve seen this several times here. Of people saying the need a bed, or their bed at the...wherever. Are these regular hospitals? Then again I only know hospitals from here, the US. I’m hoping someone can help me understand how it all works there?

Hi there, I agree the British system can be very confusing. What you are maybe seeing on here is people waiting for a bed in a hospital that has a speciality, like the Royal Brompton Hospital(RBH) which is a hospital that has a speciality in chest complaints. Hope this helps.
