I am. The doctors don’t know how to call my symptoms hence they call it non eosinophilia asthma. My symptoms are as follows: chronic inflammation, airway obstruction - mainly in my left lung; mucus over - secretion; day- time cough; shortness of breath; burning in the chest ; dull and sharp pains in the chest and front pressure pains when it all gets worse- easing when able to clear the mucus.
It is worth mentioning that I do not cough at night - as asthma suffered do... as I’m exhausted from coughing in the day time etc. Usually do not have that urge to cough at night which would wake me up.
My big triggers are: Cold air blasts from air con at work ; cold weather and wind; humidity; smog; cigarette or camp fire smoke; etc.
Infections and physical extortion make it worse.
Currently I am on azithromycine - long term - for life - as a preventer; carbocistine; ventolin and Wvar the last one probably not helping much.
Nearly 2 years ago I had bad bacterial pneumonia and this all started then. Hope this assists.
Hi Twiddles2
Yes, I have it and take a biologic for it (an injection once a month). My high eosinophil count was causing inflammation in my airway and I could hardly breathe. Was on steriods all the time and they stopped working....the biologic I take (Nucala) worked to lower my eosinophils and immediately stopped the breathing difficulty and asthma and I no longer need to take steroids.
