My son's eye sight

In the summer holidays, my son had a squint in his eyes, but did not complain of anything else, 2 days from going back to school he has been complaining of his eyes hurting and small headaches, he says that at the top right part of his head imside he says it feels different to the rest of the inside of his head and he can't really feel it or sometimes cant feel it unless he has been at school or playing on his iPad or xbox or watching tv.

He says that he is struggling to see things at a distance probably from about 3 meters away from him and further but anything closer than that he can see no problem he also says that he sees black dots when straining his eyes to see things at a distance and that he goes a little light headed some times, he also told me that he can see objects far away but they don't look clear to him.

And although he see things close up he struggles to read and always looses where he is looking which he said he has never had trouble with before untill his sight changed, he gets his eyes tested every 2 years so we wasn't going to take him this year but now he has said this I am taking him.

Is it really possible that he needs glasses or has anyone had this problem before and it was something else?

Thank you

Also forgot to say

Under one of his nails there is a lump which formed a few months ago it is in the spot where when he uses a pen it rubs he says it goes down and softer when he writes and goes big again after writing, it has not grown any larger it is still the same side as it was when he got It

What is this and is there something like a cream be can put on it to help it.

Hi you have posted this under an asthma site so I don't think we can help you. Only the optician or doctor can answer your questions.
