dosage of prednisole: hello everyone... - Asthma Community ...
dosage of prednisole
There are very serious side affects associated with prednisole - which is why doctors are reluctant to prescribe it .
Don't self medicate or give medicines to someone else. Consult a GP.
Not unless it's been prescribed by his doctor or consultant. Don't think they like using steroids long term on children
Hi Adeola23
As reiterated on the thread, do talk to your child's GP about changes to their medication.
I asked our nurses team and Caroline has said that prednisolone can be used in all age groups to stamp out severe inflammation in the airways. The doctor/nurse would normally prescribe a short course to be taken every morning for at least three days or until your child is fully recovered.
There's some information about bit.ly/2trIaKn and if you need any support our Helpline nurses are on 0300 222 5800 (Mon-Fri 9-5)
Thanks,
Dita
Am quite shocked at the question. You should NEVER give meds to someone (never mind a child) when they have not been prescribed them! Is SO dangerous.
If your child is unwell they need to see a doctor so can be prescribed appropriate meds. If they need steroids then doctor will prescribe.
Hi Adeola23,
Welcome! I am glad you found somewhere to ask your question. Prednisolone is a drug that needs to be very carefully administered and very importantly needs to guided by a doctor. Your doctor will be able to help you with your son whether it is with prednisolone or maybe the doctor will have something else that will work better. Best of luck.
Adeola,
What is the prednisole used for? Never heard of it so looked it up. Could not find anything. Do you have the medication spelled correctly? Prednisone is the medication I am familiar with. It is a steroid and should be used with caution.
What does your 5 year old need medication for? Unless the medication was prescribe for him, it could be dangerous giving anything to him without his doctor's instructions. Please look into this further!!
Have a good day.
My regards,
Kathie
