Breathing problems - but Astham under control
Do u mean like PFR being fine but like breathless and no wheeze then yes I I get that
I normally get this when I'm getting sick (a virus) like now and I get round this by increasing my preventer (which the doctor has cleared me to do up to 8 puffs) and using my reliever a lot more (I normally use it rarely)
I have been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and the acid can irritate the lungs causing breathlessness and asthma like symptoms.
HI Karjade, thanks for the response. I presume Endoscopy helped to identify hernia. Very strange that acid can irritate lungs. So how are you managing?
Yes I had an endoscopy and was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and Barrett's Oesophagus last November. I am on Lanzaprazole which reduces stomach acid for life. I have to have an endoscopy every two years to keep an eye on the Barrett's which could turn nasty. Acid can cause irritation to the lungs and also make you cough.
thanks a lot. This info will help me to discuss with my doctor. I will have breathlessness problem after having food. But I normally eat fast , not sure that could be one of the reasons
