Hi There does Anyone no from way i describing This to if i fractured my elbow or not i tried to lift my arm up to my shoulder and it hurt my elbow straight away and hurts when got phone in my Hand and when touch things
Think fractured elbow : Hi There does... - Asthma Community ...
Think fractured elbow
Is your elbow swollen. Dose it hurt if you touch it. I would get it checked out.
Hurt when touch it but not swollen
Can you straighten it fully, like normal? The reason I ask is my son has fractured his elbow 3 times. Don't force it if you can't then it's possible it's fractured. It could still be damaged.
It hurts when straighten it fully the a&e Said i got go back tomorrow
Is it being supported? And why go back, it needs to be X-Rayed to make sure it's not fractured.
Because xray Department shut 5 so didnt have Time to xray it and because i had Pain from my shoulder down they Said i got go back tomorrow so they ni what put on xray Form before send me for xray
Can you tie something into a sling? Try and keep it supported and get X-Ray done first thing tomorrow. If you have some painkillers take them. I am surprised that your X-Ray department shuts to a&e . Resting your arm won't do any harm weather or not your elbow is fractured.
Sorry I can't help more. I truly hope it's not fractured. Please let me know what happens tomorrow. If I can help in any other way, please let me know.
What your number then i can let ü no mate as ü Been so helpful they Said i Not allowed as they cant xray till had another look tomorrow Do ü think it fractured as elbow hurts
My elder son has had two fractured elbows (one each side), and certainly on the first occasion it was swollen (and bruised). He was in his first year at uni. at the time and rang home to ask for advice. I told him to go the college nurse who told him to go to A&E. It turned out that he'd cracked it rather than a complete break, but it still counted as a fracture.
All I no is it hurt when touch it and when move it and when I on phone typing
That's the problem with elbows. They are a) very easy to damage and b) really, really hurt when they are.
How did you do it?
I slipped and hit my elbow don't no if fractured it or not it hurt when touch it or move it
In fact I've always wondered why the bone on the elbow is known as the 'funny bone' given that the result of banging it is anything but funny.
It hurts don't no if I fractured it
How no if having nervous breakdown and can asthma nurse help me with that
Do you have access to an ice pack? A pack of frozen peas or mixed veg will do (but you won't be able to stick it back in the freezer for future eating afterwards). If so, wrap it in a towel (NEVER put an unwrapped ice pack on bare skin, you'll get an ice burn) and apply it to the elbow. Keep it there for 10 - 15 minutes. Repeat in about four hours time if you can and take paracetamol before you go to bed to help you sleep. Might be an idea to put a pillow down by your side to rest your arm on as you sleep.
WARNING: if you have broken skin on your elbow you shouldn't use an ice pack. Is the skin broken?
I don't think so
Fine, if the skin isn't broken (and check to make sure) try the ice pack.
Elbow hurts when touch and move it bit having to put it on pillow and my whole arm cold so is it fractured then
If you banged it badly it will hurt to touch - it will be bruised (even if the bruise isn't showing yet).
As kitten-kat23 has already told you only an X-ray will be able to confirm whether or not it's broken.
Remember if you use an ice pack the pack must be wrapped in a towel and only use it for 10 - 15 minutes. If your arm feels cold put a cover over it.
What if it fractured
There is nothing further that can be done until you have had that X-ray. Try not to move it too much.
Are they easy to fracture my elbow
Elbows are easy to hurt, but actually not that easy to fracture. Bones are hard to reduce the chances of being broken.
OK well I think I might have as it really does hurt when touch it and if touch stuff
Good advice from others. Try not to worry too much. I know that's difficult but my sister-in-law broke her elbow in several places and is fine now. Get the X-ray asap and immobilise the arm in the meantime; use a sling or something similar (this is to stop you breaking it if you have a hairline fracture). Good luck; I'm sure you'll be fine in the long run.
