Following the flu I was left with an irritating dry cough, it irritated other people so much they kept telling me to go to the doctors, which I did every week for weeks and was given cough medicine until one day at work my arm started really aching while typing at work. I saw the industrial nurse and she said it was indigestion but then I developed a temperature and felt really ill so went to the doctor after work. I was told I had pleurisy and given antibiotics. After that I developed a high fever and it hurt to breath in. When a person has had bad asthma for some time you can pull the muscles in your chest, or from coughing a lot. The pain is similar but is sharper. Hope that helps.
