Allergic Asthma and ABPA.

Hi I joined the forum a while ago and have been reading posts but not written one before. I have severe Allergic Asthma, allergic Rhynitis and ABPA and have recently had an attack. I was in Hospital for 3 days. That was 3 weeks ago and I am still having shortness of breath and wheezing. I am on a reducing course of steroids and have been to see my Chest Consultant.

I have been signed off work for the last 3 weeks and would like to go back - just not sure how to go about it. I work in the office. I don't think I will be able to manage full time work yet and hope perhaps to start back part time!!!

Any replies welcome.

With Thanks

If your firm have occupational health, speak to them and your union rep. Both should be able to help you negotiate a phased return.

Your GP can say on your fit note that you're fit only for a ohased return. If your company has a policy that includes phased return anyway you may find its very straightforward to arrange

Thanks to you both for your replies. The company I work for is only small and I think I will need to discuss my hours with my Manager. they are usually well accommodating. I have not been off ill this long before and do not want to risk going back too soon. It's just so hard to tell how I am going to feel and be.

I am still getting short of breath doing the simplist tasks but also trying to get out a bit more.
