Hello, all Asthma types are covered by the Disability Act. However, an employer is only obligated to make 'reasonable adjustments' with regard to your employment. What is a reasonable adjustment is subjective it might just be that they give you more allowance For sickness to being allowed to work from home if your symptoms flare up. It all depends on what type of job you have, the size of the employer, and public sector is probably more 'reasonable' than private sector!

Without knowing your specific reason for asking, I can't be more specific sorry ☹️ But I hope the above info helps.

Best wishes - Stacey

Yes all types of Asthma are under The DDA or Quality Act as its now called( crap name)

I work for a Very well known big Company, and Now we have been Privatised, the Managers are making it harder for us under DDA.. They lie about time on sick allowed. They say they have extended the sickness ( Weeks your allowed) then change it all.

My shift manager wants me gone but he can't as my Asthma Consultant told me. The rules under the small print

Sadly they just make life difficult for us.

Iv been referred to occupational health independent dr for assessment who suggested amendments which were refused, again I have been re-referred and further recconendations made.

In mean time I have had a further set back, and not a Able to work this week. No doubt I will be put on a second stage of concern, when I'm able to return.

It amazes me how some employers have no care, consideration or feelings at all. Even after working 15yrs with very little time of until now. Had amazingly well controlled asthma until this past year.

Such is life I expect.
