Fast heart beat
Hi Dawn, sorry your asthma has flared up. Which inhaler do you have? I have a Brycanyl Turbohaler (turbutaline) which i have for years & this drug always gives mě massive tremors/shakes & palpitations. But Its v effective ať relieving my asthma. So yes, inhalers can give you sideeffects, but I would still check with ur GP that your sideeffects are normal or if they could give you a different drug with less side effects. I am trialling an Easyhaler ať a different dose to try matching positive effects of turbohaler without sideffects. Good luck!
Woops, meant easyhaler (Salbutamol) in place of turbohaler (mine was turbutaline) Good luck!
Hey funnily enough feeling shaky is something I mentioned to my asthma nurse just last Wednesday about and she said it's perfectly normal if you're using a reliever inhaler Apparently it's a bit like adrenaline so it makes your heart beat faster and your hands shake. So you shouldn't worry, but of course I'm not an expert. If you feel more comfortable talking to an expert you could always use the number on this website and call an asthma nurse Hope you feel better soon though!
A fast heart rate could be down to using reliever as others have said. Or could be related to the fact that you're struggling, when lungs are restricted your heart rate will increase to compensate. My heart rate raises when struggling with asthma, but will usually reduce with ventolin and relief of symptoms. Be careful, if I've been struggling and had a high heart rate for a while my sats will drop. Anything that is unusual for you, you should be consulting your GP/Nurse and if you're still struggling you should probably see them anyway. Hope you're feeling better soon
