Newbie needing advice.

Hi all.

My little boy is 4 and for a week now he has a awful cough which has gradually got worst. I took him to the nurse monday who said it was tonsilities and gave him 7 day penicilian. Wednesday the cough was alot worst he was coughing for so long without breathing and nearly being sick so i took him back to see the doctor. He gave him a 3 day course of steriods which finished today. We went out today and he had an attack in a shop he couldnt stop coughing to breath. he couldnt take the inhaler. Once i calmed him down he was able to take some and a drink. Now the doctor said he should be fine by today but his not. Just walking across the room makes him have a coughing attack. Has anyone got any advice on what to do. When he has had an attack in the pass and we have taken him to A&E the steroids kick in really quick but this time its like they havent helped at all.

Thank you all

Hi Madmum

I would take him to out of hours or A&E and get him checked out. I used to worry that I was fussing and wasting there time but mums intuition is normally right. If nothing else hopefully you can be reassured with him being checked out.

I hope for both your sakes things settle down and you both get some sleep. Let us know.
