exhaustion + asthma.

I'm not sure if this is meant to be on this board, I'm sorry if it isn't.

I am always exhausted, no matter how much sleep I get, no matter how active I am, or how much I laze around, I am always exhausted.

I'm diagnosed with severe asthma - is this common with it? how do you deal with it? does it ever get any easier?

Snap!!!

I think its pretty common especially with the humid weather again. I mentioned it to the consultant the other day and he said it was nothing to worry about, body gets worn out quicker especially the amount of times you cough.

Just take it easy and listen to your body. (I've had to learn this recently, 2 one week stays in 7 weeks)

Hope you get a decent nights sleep :-)

Hi littlemisscoughalot (great name btw!),

I'm learning that I as riles sais you have to listen to your body.

On good days I get things done and go out and about, on bad days I 'sofa surf'!

Its hard as you have to adjust your mind set a bit but you will hopefully get good periods. Where you are feeling more energetic.

Don't know if that helps butit is definitely normal to be more tired.

Hi Littlemisscoughalot

I am exactly the same as you by the sounds of it

I have severe asthma, it is quite well controlled at the moment but I am so exhausted,

I can hardly do anything, I have just about enough strength to wake up, get ready and come down the stairs and then I'm on the sofa and cannot move, end up falling asleep for hours on end.

I've learnt from past experience like riles has said to listen to my body and take each day as it comes, when do you feel a bit more energetic, take it easy and slowly ease into it, don't rush it (like I did) your body will not like it,

hope that helps a bit

take care

Not sure if it is any help but my 2 year old's asthma leaves him exhausted and he also becomes quickly tired. I was just hoping it was because he isn't as controlled as I wish he could be. I have become quite used to making sure we take things at his pace and give him time to take a break when he needs one.

thank you for the replies. sorry I haven't managed to reply sooner, I've been in hospital with an attack. >:( so tired + fed up with asthma. :'(

Sorry to hear you were captured.

Hope you recover quickly and don't get too fed up sofa surfing.

Hugs xxx

Sorry to hear about your attack, LilMissCoughALot. I hope you're okay.

It probably doesn't help you but, if it's of any comfort at all, I really do appreciate your posting. I was diagnosed a few months ago (formerly diagnosed anyway - it's got well beyond the point of 'putting up with it' now) and my treatment is still being worked out. I spent all day yesterday doing not very much and really struggling for breath, using my reliever every couple of hours and feeling completely drained of all energy which is unusual for me.

It's of help to me that I can point the finger at why I felt so exhausted.
