The Perseid meteor shower should be visible tonight if it stays clear.

There is a new moon too so there should be near perfect veiwing conditions.

Tonight is also a good time to see some meteors as the Perseids has a double maximum, dont expect to see thousands, as the peak rates of 60 to 80 are rates predicted for clear ""dark"" skies and we all know how light polluted even small towns are-good luck if you are interested !

Bluejam, when I first casually cast an eye over your post, I read it as 'peak flows of 60 to 80', and thought you must be in real trouble!

-if I had been out in last nights downpour,I think my PF WOULD have been 60 to 80 !!!!!-so no Perseids this year!
