i wondering if i should see about getting refered to see a consultant as have had no control for nearly 3 months now and im still no better. My gps are doing there best but so far im having no relief from my asthma. Would it be worth me getting a referal to see someone

Looking at your profile at this stage I dont think your at that point yet. Referrals come to play when all normals chanels have been explored of the diagnosis is debatable. There are still options to be explored, and I think first step rather than consultant should be a resp nurse.

Talk to your GP tell them how you feel. They may think you are doing better than you are. Explain exactly what is going on and how it is impacting you.

yeah im off tomorrow about my asthma and an other problem i have but i cry at night with my asthma its affecting my life now i may not work but caring for my mum is a full time job as i have to keep working even when ill how can i be helpful when i am ill

Yes, definitely spell it out to your GP how you feel and how this is affecting you. There are lots of things to try, and if your GP doesn't know what to do next, then they should speak to or refer you onto someone else. Even if you're not at the stage of needing to be referred to a respiratory consultant, you shouldn't be left feeling like this.
