My heart goes faster when I'm pretty bad, but also sometimes if I've taken a lot of ventolin or if I'm abit stressed about my breatheing.

Whenever I am in increased medication (most of the time at the moment) my heart rate increases. I did check with my GP and said that it was purely down to the medication I was on, ie nebs, preds etc.

I woud imagine that it isn't anything too serious but if you have concerns it maybe worth a phone call.

My heart rate would go up and down when my meds are increased and decreased.

I also find that when I reduce try to reduce my pred dose this is more noticeable as well as the disturbed sleep patterns when reducing the pred!!

My GP said this is a normal part of my Asthma medication

Oh the joys!!

Hope this helps

Hi Glynis,

I get an increased heart rate after using ventolin and very much so if I've had any nebs. I have also noticed I do when my peak flow is down to - I suppose it is because you have to work harder with the tubes closing up.

Hope you feel better soon Em x

This happens to me, i never really thought anything of it as i thought it was just a reaction to an increase of my meds, but last week my doctor told me that it can be becasue of medication increase but it can be a sign of a wheeze and linked to your asthma getting worse, which i thought was quite intresting!

I agree with the others - if you're asthma's bad you're probably using your bronchodilator a lot more which would increase your heart rate & probably also make you shaky. That ""racing heart"" feeling is horrible because it's impossible to rest or relax with it isn't it? Let alone sleep. What's your asthma management plan for this scenario glynis? If you're not sure what to do wouldn't it be best to contact your asthma nurse or gp, or phone the helpline?

take care

polly

Hi Polly,

Im on full action plan and on prednisalone 10mg daily .

not been well for a while and been on 40mg pred for a while and just come down

to a lower daily long term dose.

Think its all the reliever ive had to take with pred reduction.

Seen doctor and spoke to asthma nurse on the phone as got daily contact

with them when asthma is bad like most days.

Doc got me in quick last week to see my con in 2 weeks to see what he can do

as doc said on max meds and daily pred on stage 5.

Racing stopped now but did scare me as went on for agaes and never had it before since

started with asthma .

love Glynis xxx

my meds are on my profile what im on at the moment so hope room for add ons or change xxxx
