Ive just used the nhs choose & book service to see cons.
Ive never used it before, but i think its pretty good.
You get a choice of hosp (2 in my case)
They tell you how long you will need to wait, then you make your choice.
Is this a recent thing, or has it been running for a while?

Howie, we have had this service in Kent for a while now. I have used it for my daughter & it worked very well. All the best for your appt.

Hello Howie, am glad you had a positive experience with the infamous 'choose and book' system. It has been going for quite some time now. It is not always as good as you have found it to be, the problem is that some specialities have a higher demand than others so sometimes there are no clinics available to book. Which must be very frustrating and time consuming, particularly when you are unable to book due to no clinic availability but keep getting sent letters telling you to book!
I think some GPs are opting out of this scheme in April, I guess its like all things when it works well its great but when it doesn't.....
Good luck with your appointment Howie, am very jealous of you living in Scarborough, I love the sea - had a very yummy hot choc and ice cream in Harbour Bar last wkd. Bit nippy noodles but a lovely place to visit, take good care, Lois
