Not saying this is the case but with some people with prevous uncontrolled asthma we can learn to breath wrongly and get 'air hunger' its called dysfunctional breathing and can be corrtected by exercises.

Also general fitness plays a part

I'm the same. I was admitted to hospital last week. All tests were clear and no infection found, peak flow dropped a little and oxygen levels great yet I'm really wheezy and have a dreadful cough. I'm convinced it's the air quality in the city that reaches unacceptable levels. When I was in A&E several other people were brought in with respiratory problems.

I hope your breathing settles down soon. Have you tried having a bowl of hot water near you to moisten the air? It helps me a liitle sometimes.

it might be one of two things (or other things that i couldnt tell you about, lol!...)

possibly the asthma has been gradually limiting your daily activities and sports, exercise, so its a question of getting more fit a little at a time. in this case, its probably better to ask your doctor for advise and info on what you can or cant get back into doing, and working on it slowly.

it could also mean that you are truly having difficulties, as in the beginning of an attack, but that hsnt shown up on the peak flow yet. so i would advise to monitor your peak flow and symptoms very closely in the days to come, and seek medical help if in doubt.

hope this is of some help.
