Hi everyone

I have asthma and i am wondering if there is any benifits you can get from the social or summet because my asthma is really getting me down.

You could try for DLA but it is very hard to get. I got refused and my son has been refused twice know. But there are peole that get DLA on a low rate for there asthma

The only benefit you may be entitled to is Disability Living Allowance, and this benefit is only awarded to those whose health is so bad that it effects the way they are able to lead their lives. I see from your profile that you are only 13, and so this is something that would have to be explored by your parents or legal guardians.

From the little you have said in your posting your mood is very much effected by your health, believe me money isn't go to change this. Say you were to have DLA, it wouldn't be there for you to waste, but to use towards care and medical expenses, so your family would have control of it.

I think that right now you need to address why you feel the way you do and get your family to understand and help you gain control of your Asthma and therefore your life and enjoy being young again. Asthma UK has a message board aimed at the younger people, who will be experiencing similar feelings to yours, maybe it will be beneficial for you to find friendship and support there.
