Hi

Is anyone getting direct payments? Has anyone set up there own personal assistants? Does anyone know anything in this area? I am hopefully going to be going down this route if all goes to plan.

Hi Plumie :) hope you are well!

I haven't done it but from what I gather you are recommended to keep a separate account for the payment to keep it away from DLA/ESA etc.

From what I gather it is personal preference but there are places who can help you hire someone.

I think it's a very positive way of organising care as it's personal to you and you can find someone you really get on with.

Sorry I couldn't be anymore help here is some more info direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPe...
