O.K. this is kind of gross. LOL. But I was just wondering if other people had this experience? When I was first diagnosed with asthma, and was put on preventive medicine, I spent the first couple of weeks coughing up mucus. Then in the last couple of years my doctors have tried to take me off the meds a few times to see if I ""really needed them."" Yeah. I'm not a fan of that. But anyways this last time first my lung doctor tried to take me off of singulair (and three days later I got a productive cough). Then he tried to lower my dose of advair/inhaled steroids, and every time I go down a dose same thing happens...coughing up mucus.
Is this a common asthma symptom? I find that if I'm on the meds, that mostly this never happens if that makes sense.
Yeah I found this, phlegm was a big problem for me esp when exercising, since on the meds the mucus has all dried up. I still have other symtoms but its not compounded by copious amounts of phlegm and my cough has gone.
hi Beethere,
I have a real bad mucus problem and constantly bringing up mucus and swollowing it as
wont cough up.
My doctor put me on carbocsistine and since then been alot better ,might be worth
asking your doc about it.
love Glynis xxx
Thanks guys for sharing! Unfortunately this just seems to be part of life for me, but for some reason I always feel sort of surprised when it happens....like is that coming out of my body?
