Hi all has anyone else got a medic alert bracelet that all the red has come out of the writing and picture? Do I need to send bracelete back to get re coloured or can I just buy a new one? thanks in advance xxxx

Some of the red has started comming off mine too (tho I think I like it better without the red!), I don't know wether it can be re-coloured but it might be worth contacting them to find out.

dont think you can get them recoloured but it is not essential for medic alert to ahve the red bit on them. I like the ones in america as you can have different colours rather than just red.

I knwo the more expensive medic alert ones dont have red they are all silver or gold.

Medic Alert

On my old bracelet all the red came off, and I preferred it. I now have a silver one with black writing. Personally I tend to try and make mine as least obviously as possible, because I rather people don't know. Besides medical staff should you be in state that renders you incapable of telling them whats wrong, should look for medic alert jewerlly, and there are so many different types out there.

Hmm, maybe so, but there may be occasions when you want someone not medical to be able to find your Medic Alert. I personally think that having a Medic Alert (or similar) that looks exactly like a regular piece of jewellery is the single most useless thing - if no-one can see it, it's not exactly alerting them!

I have an SOS talisman emblem thing on a beaded chain made by a friend. Its a compromise matches what i'm wearing but still really really obvious is a medical bracelet.

Most important thing is to wear it. My mums sits in her jewellry box, not much help to anyone there!

Please dont always rely on medical staff knowingabout medic alert and such like. I have had experience both with A + E staff and paramedics who knew absolutely nothing about them which was rather worrying!!!

To me whats the point of wearing an alert talisman if u dont want it to be noticed???!!!

I have had mine for 9 yrs now and no one has ever commented except to ask me the time thinking it was a watch!!!

Medic Alert

Yes I have had experiences where medical staff didn't know what my medic alert was, I get your point everyone about how perhaps not everyone are medical staff and prehaps I might need the everyday public to be able to recognise my medic alert jewerlly. Its just that personally I feel quite uncomfortable with every Tom Dick and Harry knowing that I may need medical attention in an emergency, but thats my issue and no one elses. So who ever out there wants their medic alert jewerlly to be obvious thats their choice and I respect that.

Thankyou for all your replies xx
