my friend spiritedstream says if you go take lots of meds and a scarf. they don't speak much english and there is little in the way of health care. it's dusty and dry and can be windy too. 50 degrees in the shade. she also mentions if you don't like cockroaches don't go, they're everywhere.

In summary she says it's an intersting place, wouldn't go again (to the Luxor area) dry dusty and 50 degrees in the shade. She says try Crete it's nice there and they do speak english.

Personally i'd love to go, my grandad and uncle when somewhere between the late 50's and early 70's and i'd love to go and see what he saw, although i do realise things will have changed since he was there. He spoke so fondly of the place when showing me pictures, painted lovely pictures in my mind. Given my asthma i'm not sure i'll ever get there, but i'll always have the memories and pictures in my mind. Of course there is the TV documentaries too but personally i prefer the home stories.

Have a fantastic holiday wherever you go x

I'm not great with heat but that's just me rather than asthma. However I find hot and humid is more of a problem - there is the dust but hot and dry might be ok?

Hope you do find somewhere good! Greek islands are nice, always wanted to go there.

I have had 3 weeks of struggling with asthma, got so fed up and booked a holiday to Mexico. I go in a week. I am reducing prednisolone at the moment, but am armed with spare inhalers and prednisolone to take with me.

The AA have provided me with good medical insurance.

I am afraid of asthma, but I AM going on holiday. It will be my first holiday in YEARS! If I become ill out there, I WILL deal with it (I hope).

Now, brave words over. Back to worrying about it. . .
