flu jab

just a reminder re flu jab -a lot of people are experiencing nasty flu like symptoms.

Having the flu vacination can help to prevent the virus taking hold.

Please remember the flu jab does not give you the flu it gives flu like symptoms but its seriously benefical to people, my dad is diabetic and should have got it and didnt because of the myth it gives the flu and now he has the flu he regrets not getting the jab. I got the jab and had a slight cold for a day or two wouldnt miss it ever

Hi all I am quite new here,

Because I have allergy based asthma and because I am allergic to egg, I am unable to recieve the flu Jab. I was informed in november that there was not demand for the non egg based flu jab and now I think i have the Flu. I feel like I been push to the side with my condition and its not fair.

decided to have mine, went last night, no problems so far. Funny had two different lots of advice, asthma nurse - not bother with it, flue jab nurse - always have it. I'm always going to have it I think. Whats with the allergic to eggs though?

Regarding egg allergy - the Flu Vaccine is cultured on chicken eggs and so is not suitable for people who are allergic to eggs.

Egg free vaccines are made in Europe somewhere but not available on the lists for the UK, though I am sure special orders can be made for them. I think they are also made in small batches. I wish they were available as I am allergic to eggs.
