Hallo!
I Have to go for a filling in 2 weeks and every time a dentist comes near me with A needle I have a panic attack that quickly Develops into an asthma attack.My dentist doesn't offer sedation and i am really worried about this.Any tips for keeping calm? My ipod doesn't help because I realize everything!
i ave the same problem and i got reffered to the hospital where they offer sedation, that was just before i turned 17 so i was classed a a child still, how bout ipod and shutting ur eyes, they put the numbing stuff on which means u cant feel it and to be honest the sedation/laughing gas didnt help that much !!

No expert but i would def say 2 your dentist about how anxious you are with needles. Most dentists would help put your mind at rest and must have ways to help alleviate the anxiety...after all who likes going to the dentist. Sorry I can't b much help but think positively, slow, deep breaths and that it won't last long.

My niece is just the same and so either I or her grandmother always go with her to the dentist. She's 35 and very self-conscious about it; it's partly a fear of needles but also a fear of having a panic attack and causing a scene! But we find that if one of us, who she trusts to keep calm, sits right next to her, and talks nonstop about everyday things, she is OK. We've been doing this for a few years now and she is getting much better. The dentist is very understanding and always reassures her that he doesn't think she stupid and it's apparently a very common phobia
