Hallo!

Does anyone know if airplanes set asthma off? I am going to New Zealand tomorrow and I want to know.

Also-What are they like at security with inhalers and stuff?

Cheers!

Have had no problems flying to US, Air conditioning feels a bit strange when you get on plane but have had no problems also no problems with asthma medication that I have taken. Advisable to take your repeat prescription list with you. Have a great time.

You should be fine; one of our friends, a VERY brittle asthmatic, flies regularly without problem.

It's also definitely a good idea to take your repeat script with you, as Carla suggested, so that you can prove that your meds are legitimate.

No problems with planes - it's when I got off things got squeaky!

Even the week after the terrorist-liquid-bomb scare they were fine about liquid adrenaline/inhalers- even the possibility of me taking a highly dangerous blood-glucose needle on board! (the badge pin on my backpack was bigger!!)

Have an awesome trip :D

Oh Dear- My Doctor is 60 miles away!

If they Have a problem I can just give them My docs no??

Cheers!

We flew couple weeks ago with my son who had a holdall full of drugs as hand luggage. In hand luggage he had needles and syringes for S/C , 4 boxes of bricanyl in glass vials, epi- pens, nebules, loads tabs and inhalers and a nebuliser. He also had syringe driver for s/c in pocket. I was advised by airport that I needed a doctors letter stating what drugs we would be carrying and what condition.

We were asked to declare the drugs bag contents at customs and show docs letter as the bricanyl is in liquid form and each box of 10 is 50ml and u only allowed max of 100ml in hand luggage. All staff at Gatwick were very good once we explained or should I say Sean explained lol. The customs man face was picture when he was asked what was in syringe and sean flippantly says bricanyl in a tone that suggested the man should have known lol

The other way round it is to put all in suitcase but im also so worried that case will go missing that I take weeks worth drugs with us as hand luggage.

Have nice time

Hi Vicky,

Hello

We went to China in March this year and I was only asked once about my inhalers and that was at Beijing Airport. The woman on the desk seemed to have an idea what my inhalers were. She asked me to take them out of my bag and I did. She was okay with that and I put them away. That was all. I just had to keep all my medication in my hand luggage.

Hope this helps a little

Just had to chuckle at the keep medication in hand luggage. When i went to cyprus last yr to see sis after many tests and lots planning was able to go for a week, my medication was my hand luggage and it was a large sports bag holder filled to the brim? and that was just a weeks supply!! he he
