Today I have had a busy day, and was asked to blow up some balloons, so I took my salb before I started and stopped when my chest felt tight. Then was ok for rest of day. Now my chest feels tight and am coughing.

Balloon blowing is like an intensive physio workout for your lungs and supporting muscles? We used to advice parents of asthmatics to do this with their kids to improve lung fuction, you will use all lung capacity aswell as muscles not used so much with day to day breathing.

Erm, well, yes. It would do really, wouldn't it?
Andrea is quite correct; blowing up balloons can be hard work even if you've got ""fit"" lungs. In the same way that you only feel a tightness in your leg muscles the day after you've been running, you're feeling it now.
Need to be careful with balloons according to my immunologist - they are latex and if you are allergy prone intensive contact with it by blowing them up could trigger a reaction to it.
yep, the latex makes me wheeze - I get like that when I blow up latex gloves for kiddies but not when I blow up nitriles, although they are harder to do! Yes I'm a nut
