Saw other good GP this morning as my usual one (the good but depressing one) is away.
He hasn't seen me since November when I had the cough but was otherwise a lot better than now - think I shocked him a little! Especially since I came in so short of breath he thought I'd been running (haha), then told him I'd been sitting in the waiting room and wasn't seeing him for my breathing. We didn't get onto the actual reason I was there (more anti-dizziness tablets as dizziness/fluey feeling still there) until I'd told him I was seeing the resp cons again on 11th August and he'd listened to my chest (which was of course clear - I did tell him I don't usually wheeze). Usual thing re PF - 'well if your PF is 540 then it can't be that causing symptoms' - did tell him good for me is over 600...
May have been good timing - he wants me to come and see him again after I see the resp cons to keep him updated, asked what tests I'd had and think he'll be a better advocate, if I need one, than the other GP - tbh that's all they can do right now so I need them to be good about chasing people who might have a solution.

You back on dizzy pills again ?xxx
Never came off them! If I don't take them I feel like I've got flu (not sick, just urggh and dizzy). Ideally I'd like to find out what's going on, but if they can't then I need something to control symptoms or it's hard to work or do anything esp with breathing not treated either. Massive sympathy for you dealing with dizziness etc all the time though sounds like yours is not that similar and probably worse.
Been a bit up and down this week, think the pred made me forgetful so didn't take them on two mornings including one when had work trip, oops. Got through it though.
Did doc say what it was or sending u ENT?x
No they don't seem interested in investigating for some reason! Will be mentioning it to cons when I see her, probably will be the same though. Pinning so much on this appt coming up and suspect it will lead to nothing again.
He sounds like the right GP to go to in the future. I always feel you should come out feeling better after seeing a GP than when you go in and if I don't, I tend to avoid that GP in the future!! Perhaps if you are still feeling dizzy when you go to see him and the consultant doesn't have ideas about what is causing it, you can ask more in depth what he thinks it might be as you haven't had it investigated.

Hi Jac,
Yeah think I will see him next time and maybe ask about dizziness, was seeing the other one mainly because it was 'come back if this next medication doesn't work' and to be fair she is good, but like you say I would prefer not to feel really down afterwards and she has a way of putting things - the one i saw today wasn't really saying anything different, but he didn't make me feel like I was out of options, more like they would get to the bottom of it.
He thinks all the heart stuff is just a precaution and I'm bound to feel something going on with the effort of breathing, which is also reassuring as it does get a bit lively sometimes but I also didn't want them putting that down to anxiety because it will give them ideas about what else 'might be anxiety'...
Am jealous - I think you should share your good GPs! Actually, the one I see is ok, a lot better than others I've seen in the last year. Its great to know that someone is interested in finding out whats going on with you
can i have your GP pretty please
xx
lol I'll share him if you like, as long as you don't give me a share in your weird consultant with the personality disorder!
He [my GP that is, your cons is the opposite!] seems to be getting a fan club and he's not even an 'asthma' one, just takes the time to actually listen and realises that even if they can't work out what's going on with me some relief of the symptoms would be nice.
