Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips for a first visit to a asthma specialist?

Write down all your syptems and questions and be prepared for tests and a lot of waiting about and a battery of questions.
But its all for your benefit so try takeit in your stride, dont be afraid they are the to help you and remember they are human too.
Good luck

Thank you.
Do you think it would be worth asking for my doctors records to be printed to take with me so they can see what meds I have had and when, how many chest infections/bad spells ect?
That should have been sent by your doc when he reffered you to the chest clinic, the good things about these clinics is as they are more specialised they listen to you and not just what your doc has wrote, but just in case get a copy of your meds thats always handy to have with you

Thank you,
I just really want to do the right things as I am so fed up!
If you have any PF charts take them with you I forgot mine 1st time I went and they asked if I had them. Prob would have been useful.
Good Luck

PF charts are really useful, if you don't have any then start recording them now and take them along. Ideally they like a couple of weeks worth but anything is better than nothing.

Yeah I do my PF and have my book.
I have also been noting down what symptoms i get each day.
it can be helpful to think about questions you want to ask and to write them down and take them with you so you don't forget. don't feel shy about asking questions and if you don't understand the answer to anything tell the doc and have them explain it another way.
Thank you all,
I will do all you have sugested!
