when i got diagnosed my asthma was bad but controllable i was on blue, brown & orange inhalers. never had an attack, but a lot of nighttime coughing. i had no symptoms at all from 6-13, since then my asthma came back. the last couple of months its got worse than it has ever been, i'm going through 2 blue inhalers a month, they BARELY do anything at all apart from make me cough more, i'm barely sleeping or if i do, i'm waking a lot feeling breathless, & i'm really limited as to what i can do... ive had blue, brown, green & a pinky/purpley inhalers. i've got a course of Prednisolone after an attack yesterday. oxygen levels had dropped to 94%, was straight on nebuliser, which seemed to help & bring my oxygen up. i got discharged with 98/99% oxygen levels, a&e said to go back if it worsens, less than 24hrs after getting discharged, i'm feeling lightheaded, breathless & a bit tightchested, again. ive had 3 big attacks this year with a few smaller ones in between which havent needed hospital treatment. its really starting to scare me, especially after yesterday; my hands & feet were numb, my lips were going numb, i was really lightheaded & my hands & lips had a blue tint to them. heard coffee is meant to help, tried it before & it doesnt do anything. i've got a spacer & it doesnt help any. anyone know anything that may work?

It sounds like you should get checked out by a doctor either the out of hours GP or A&E! Particularly if salbutamol through a spacer isn't helping.

It sounds like your asthma control hasn't been good generally. It would be a good idea to see your GP next week who could change/increase your meds. You seem to only be on inhalers there are tablets that you could try.

Take care

I ended up in A&E today after a bad attack last night, choking on air, coughing, throwing up, chest tightness, wheezing on inhaling & exhaling & another strange noise. Used nearly a full inhaler last night to try avoid having to wake my parents up to get help. I'm not even sure how they didn't get woken up. As for the medication, as I've already said, I was in A&E earlier on, the doctor who i saw, said he didn't see any reasoning as to why my inhalers would need to be changed. Its only the 4th time this year I've landed in A&E with my asthma, two of those times were between three days. [Thursday, & today.] My GP is always a pain to get inhalers changed, it took me three visits to see him to get my inhalers changed as I had been instructed by the A&E staff to see my GP to get them changed. When the A&E staff said to go visit my GP to get my medication changed, I was on blue, brown & green inhalers. I found the green one to be helpful. I'd forgot I hadn't got any inhalers left so I went to see my GP as I'd only had a repeat prescription,& they take 2 days to process. He took my brown & green inhalers out & included the pinky/purple one instead. Is there any other reliever inhalers other than salbultomal? (SP?)
