Will the hospital not help with at least setup or is it down to something like being out of PCT region for funding?

Any news on that pump yet ....
My GP doesn't have one to lend..........
not sure what will happen now. Need to talk to Southampton, maybe they will do a trial - then I can put together a case for funding to the PCT if it works.
Hope the Sub cut pump helps you Fee and gives you a lot more better days
with your asthma xxxx
Fee, would say ask Katina, I know she uses one and has lots experience with sub cut pumps and the like.
I have always had my pump (A graseby MS26 syringe driver) on loan from initially District nurses , and now from the medical equipment library at my local hosp. Can your local provide you with a loan one to ensure it works for you. It doesn't always work for everyone.
Ask for Sof-sets or Sillouette sof-set infusion sets (needle is soft like a venflon and has integral tubing, etc) as these are much better than solid butterfly needles (if they are still used?)
Be confident with the set up, write a little crib sheet - mine was written on the back of a hospital catering menu card! Ensure you know who is supplying the sets, syringes, needles, batteries if you have a McKinley which eats batteries, etc.
Ensure your local chemist can get the ampoules in, order well in advance and always keep an emergency stash!
Rotate your sites, eg 3-4 days, though I leave longer if they look OK but that is my personal way and I am aware of how my own skin behaves.
You may get shakes and cramps esp with bricanyl, I use s/c ventolin.
If you do a search on the message boards, there are quite a few threads on s/c. PM me if you like......
