Hi,

I think yes is the answer to both your questions - night time symptoms can be a feature of asthma and I actually prop up the bed with lots of pillow and sleep almost sitting up since I get tight if I lie down. Also, we had a first aid talk at work and one of the subjects covered was asthma - we were told that many asthmatics find changing their position and in particular, sitting slightly leaning forward, can help - which is exactly what I find!

Hope this helps.

Hello Stuzo,

Yes, asthma can get worse at night; this is a particular feature of asthma. However, if you're getting night-time symptoms this suggests your asthma isn't very well controlled, so I suggest you get yourself an appointment with your local friendly GP to discuss your symptoms and review your treatment.
