spiders
When the conkers get in season, should be any minute now... put one or two conkers on your window sills and places where you find spiders... for some reason they don't like them... (I suspect they are poor losers when they play conkers...)
I have found one of the whole bottle of wine glasses good for catching spiders (no good for wine...) especially if they have long legs so there legs don't get trapped and a peice of paper slide under the upside down glass to deposit spider to a new home outside...
I have a massive spider phobia although I've never done this myself as cAn never locate them position some conkers around you house in Places like windowsills should do the trick works for everyone I know! Worth a try if u can get yourself some ! Good luck
Nice joke on no pets
deffinately conkers - terrified of spiders and they keep them away, in windowsills and corners of rooms work a treat
Thank you people, i know what il be doing tomorrow!
I can see it now, rock up in hotel el la hospital cons sayin...now then do u no what caused this attack...yes mr con, my emotions got in the way as i got scared about a black hairy thing with far to many legs, so i ran away into the freezin cold to get away from it as it was chasing me! x
I've never heard of the conker thing!! Still I don't need to worry, the cat or dog soon gobble them up! Sorry for all those who can't have pets, if there's one thing they're good for, its iradicating those pesky multi-limbed black evil arachnids!
I dont understand why they just cant stay outside in the wilderness!
I mean i got to pay rent and if the landlord finds out ive got another life living in his property i dont thing he would be to impressed...and the council office, id have to pay more... Wow if i charged each eight legged nastiness rent id be rich... Better still they can continue to build theor own mansions outside...by all means we can be neighbours, just not house mates, im sorry
I'm a member of the ADL(Arachnid Defense League). Leave them alone they are harmless and good for the home as they eat all the nasty germ carrying bugs.
We have a resident spider called Boris that lives on the outside of our kitchen window. He stops many a fly entering the room.
Much as I want to like the 8 legged fiends I can't. I've tried to tolerate them on the grounds that they would sort out any flying insects coming into the house and I wouldn't have to use fly spray. No matter how hard I try I can't do it. I've tried evicting them but they come back (one with only 7 legs came back to my bathroom no matter how far away I took him) and they're meaner than ever when they get back and stamp around on my ceiling and walls just waiting for their chance to get me. I'm afraid I have been driven to arachnicide from time to time, coz the conkers haven't worked. In fact, the year I tried it I had more spiders than ever. I think they called all their friends and relatives over to prove to me that I was wasting my time.............
If anyone can think of anything other than conkers I'd be grateful.
Ive never heard bout the conkers thing, just proves you can learn something every day.
I saw an advert for something you plug in and its supposed to keep spiders and all manner of other beasties out of the house.
Dont believe it myself and have yet to hear it works from a real person.
I use a glass to catch spiders, slide card underneath, then let them go outside.
I heard its supposed to bring bad luck if you kill one.
To be honest, they really scare me, but as the man of the house, i must deal with them, rather than running away screaming like a small child (which is my first instinct)
For me its the shivers down the spine, freeze, run, run bk, figure out where it went, then i have to say i hunt it down and kill it! I cnt stand the thought of 1 crawling in my mouth as i sleep. Yuk! And i am no where near brave enough t
n do the cup and cardboard trick ew no! My dad told me to hover them, but surly they would group together and attack me as a group! Just like if u freeze a spider they dont die! :-|
There was a huge spider in the corridor at the hospice today. Quite funny watching several nurses, who have to deal with all manner of horrible things and do it very well, panic and try to work out what to do with it! They saw my brother and said 'you're a bloke, you deal with it' (so much for feminism...) but he's not great with them either. Eventually one of the admin staff did the cup and paper trick and stuck it outside.
Small thing but brightened the day hehe. I don't mind them that much though I did object to the large one I once found on my pillow. Luckily my bed is next to the window so he went straight out.
If i saw a massive 1 right now, id pack a bag and stay at some1 elses house for the night, and not come back until i know its safe! Strange how such a small thing can scare us so easily!
conkers by windows and doors, mother who is terrified of spiders swears by them, and there are loads about right now.
Would pictures of conkers work...typical that i need a conker tree and i cant find a single 1! X
Heehee, never heard the conkers one myself either. Plenty round here too. Used to wind little sister up with letting them on my arms & my mum by saying I wanted a pet tarantula.
Am available to get rid of spiders if anyone's near me
