Must admit I havent paid too much attention-not really my thing ,but a common ""joke"" that has surfaced is that we only win golds at things that involve sitting down!!

oh,and beach volleyball (womens variety) seems to have been popular with the lads at work-I wonder why??

Swimmers, cyclists and rowers get paid next to nothing and show great pride in representing their country, and winning medals on behalf of their country. I wish the overpaid, inflated ego pillocks of footballers could do the same. No wonder interest in football is waning.

I'm with you there, GF. Maybe the footballers could sponsor the Olympians - moving the scales a little bit back in the right direction?

PS: Well done to Team GB for a fantastic effort over the last 2 weeks. 2012? Bring it on!

I have really enjoyed watching the olympics over the last 16 days! Not every medal was won in sitting down sports!! :P Some of the commentators have been really amusing, the presenter adrain charles had had me in crying with lautghter a few times! The bmx riding had to be one of my faves it looked so dangerous and was a new event so quite interesting to see how that turned out! Hope london can put on as good a show as beijing, we will see!

It's a shame and its horrid that they didnt let the little girl, yang peiyi who actually sung the song in the opening ceremony perform because of her looks and made a ""pretty"" girl mime her vocals in the opening ceremony.
