Foolishly trusting a ""posh"" clothing item to be colourfast,I now have a newish jacket and shirt which are now ""pink""-do any of you know of a commercially availabe colour dye remover that I might be able to get from my local Tesco later tonight ??
Oh and in future wash on 30 degrees, it is amazing what you can bung in the same wash.
Buy a bottle of vingar, fill the lid of the vingar with vingar put in a bucket and fill to top with warm water, leave to soak for 30minutes then put in washing machine on a normal wash. And they should come out the colour they were.
Not sure why or how this works but it does for me and many other students i rescued in halls when the foolishly put in new rugby red socks with there white everything else.
Vanish do one that seems to work quite well particularly if you follow the 'tough stains' instructions. Alternatively dye everything else pink to match
Thanks for the tips y,all-I had already set off for Tescos before I had had (?) a chance to read any,I am now placing my trust in ""Original Dr.Beckmann"" Colour Run Remover -but I will bear your advice in mind in future.
ps Kate,I dont have a new fangled 30C type machine,40 is its lowest and thats what it was on for that wash !!
Silly blue jam, but we have all done it, there is a product on the market called Glo Care Colour Catcher. It comes in a pack of sheets and you put a sheet in with each wash, and apparently this enables you to wash your clothes without separating various garments, and also keeps your clothes brighter for longer. The reviews for it on line appear to be quite good, but cannot comment on it personally.
And as for your whites remaining bright, I just give up. Even if I keep them white they always come out with added dog hair, and I swear that the dog does not wear my underwear, well I don't think she does LOL.
i swear by the 'colour catchers' - having 3 kids they washing is never ending but i very rarely have enough to do a 'whites wash or such so i whack a colour catcher in every wash and its great -i put my daughters new red jeans in with a cream t shirt and the t shirt came out cream and the colour catcher reddy-pink!!!
I would recommend them to everyone!!!
The good Dr Beckmann was only partially successful !!!!
