Hahaha! fruitcake here!
Doh the madness its my fault cause i started calling kat a fruitcake and it kinda stuck! We had to change her name though as we were both known as fruitcake!
And then the flapjack came along!
It helps that I come from a baking family lol! a long line of bakers theres even a sheffords (my surname) bakery in oxfordshire!

Muffin signing in!!! I am baking muffins today- what a coincidence!!! Hmmmm fresh baked muffin smell wafting through the house!!!

So far we have a jam roly poly, a muffin, fruitcake, cupcake, flapjack, doughnut and jam tart!!! lol!!! warning to all though the madness is contageous - though once you have caught it you have it for life lol!!!!

You bake biscults too, so there with my tongue sticking out.. God did anyone see Heston on channel 4 at 9pm, got his pudding, there's a cake and ejaculating cake, it looked orgasmic. If you missed it watch it on Channel 4 catchup. Who needs men to keep you happy when you have cakes that look that yummy. Just sad you can't make it in the domestic kitchen nor buy it from Greggs.

Can I be a Rice Crispie Cake - for the lazy baker but still utterly yummy! I think that sums be up well ;-). In addition they always have little festive things on them and I am not the kind of person who misses an excuse to party

My husband and I were discussing the origins of ""Cookies"" last night and I mentioned the disagreement over whether or not a Cookie is a biscult or cake, he said since they were made from a dough surely they were a ""pastry."" So I have decided to google it and look at Wikipedia, in scotland a cookie is a small scone, in the US a biscult is a kind of flat bread, so considering that a cookie is quite dense in its make up, it is closer to a ""cake.""
Since we all like ""THE BAKERY"" what shall we be collectively know as?

Fruitcake is taken from nutty fruitcake which was a term invented in 2007 I think it was by me and emz (me/doughnut) late one night! there is a facebook group that was created called the nutty fruitcake society maybe all you cake nutters could join if it still exists lol!

I supose you could say i am a do'nut because that appears to be my 3 year old grandaughter's name for me (and others) at the moment - one of those fads they go through

Gingerbread Eggs!
My older daughter was up with the wee one today. Granddaughter at two and a half is at the 'wanting to help with everything' stage. She knelt on a chair at worktop to help sift the flour, spices etc. while I melted the golden syrup and marg. Her mummy kneaded it together. Then we all took some dough to roll out.
Started off we were going to make gingerbread people but granddaughter decided to use the egg-shaped cookie cutter instead.
Biscuits baked, we decorated our 'eggs' with writing icing.
Bless wish i was there baking, gingerbread eggs sound ace!

Sorry but I'll have to join in. Do you realise what you have started? I love the Apprentice and was horrified to hear one of the new applicants on this weeks show describe themselves as a cream puff! Was the blonde american lady if you need to verify her membership of the bakery!.
By the way I think I'm a chocolate fudge cake! mainly due to the vast quantities consumed in the past. Does this qualify for membership?

I miss flapjacks. They always make me cough now. Sniff.
Embarassed myself last night, made chocolate crispie nests with Guide unit and ended up using inhalor due to laughing too much! forgot how much fun it was to do cooking with the guides. Certainly cheered me up and prevented me eating any of the goodies as I'm meant to have given up chocolate for lent.
Guides were really good and remembered I have problems with feathers so kindly removed all the tiny chicks they were going to use as decorations. Was so touched by them being thoughful.
On the count down to when I can have chocolate again. Does chocolate in a cke count?
